It is a special thinner formulated from slow volatile solvents and added for drying retarding effect in paint and varnish applications.
It is used as a retarder in paint/varnish applications in order to prevent condensation and dulling that may occur during application in humid and rainy weather conditions, and in order to prevent the thinners from flying off the surface quickly and causing orangeness on the paint surface in very hot weather. Depending on the desired delay, it is recommended to add 1-5% to the paint/varnish. It should not be used alone as a thinner as it may delay drying excessively.
