Epoxy Wood Varnish is an epoxy resin-based, two-component varnish. It is a transparent, high gloss, and versatile epoxy varnish.
It is used as a protective product for tables, game boards, furniture, stones, seashells, ceramics, paintings, and photographs. The product is also used for decorative purposes to fill cavities in wooden logs.
Surfaces must, first of all, be completely cured, dry, clean, and free of rust, oil, and dust, as well as all contaminants. The perimeters of the areas to be used must be molded into the plexiglass. After using EPOXY WOOD VARNISH (865-0100), it is necessary to be sure that the surface is not dusted. Protective clothing and gloves should be used. The hardener is added to the 1st component at the specified rate, and it is dried for 5-6 minutes. It is mixed with a low-speed drill until homogenized. The mixed product is poured into the middle of the application area. This product must be applied within 20 minutes. After the product is poured, scanning must be done across the entire surface in one direction to spread it proportionally. Do not scan or spread after the product starts to dry. During application, the thickness of the layers should not exceed 1 cm. Most of the foams formed in the first pouring process disappear as they rise to the surface. However, since the EPOXY WOOD VARNISH (865-0100) application is thick, all foams do not disappear. For this reason, a hand-held torch is used to help remove the foam while the casting process has not yet started to dry. The blowtorch is kept at a distance of 15-20 cm from the surface and moved over the entire surface. The surface is slightly heated to facilitate the removal of foams. The torch should not be held in the same area for a long time. The filling and pouring process is repeated in the same way with a minimum of 8 hours until the desired and sufficient thickness is achieved.
